Maturity for the Christian
Moving on to maturity in Christ means leaving behind elementary issues of faith. We should not be so concerned with the questioning things such as repentance, faith, judgement, the Resurrection and eternal life. Every believer must admit that these things are true and believe them because God has revealed them as truth. Instead, we must move on to worship God in the glorious mysteries of his person and works.
One who stays immature in faith and never seeks to go deeper with God is a prime candidate to waffle in faith. If one is strictly concerned with the truth of the foundational doctrines, then their faith can be swayed by any number of false teaching, and may even reject God in the end.
If someone who has heard the sweet doctrines of the Gospel and even walks in them for a time, then rejects God again, there is not much hope for them. They have tasted of the goodness of God and turned there back to walk away. There are like the thorn bush that received the rain but produced nothing good. It will we be torn up and burned.
